Jay McCormick- Jay McCormick, '87s a four-year letter winner in the men's basketball program from 1983-1987. He suited up in a record 120 games for the Sailfish. He ranks third all-time with 1,372 points, 495 field goals and a .565 field goal percentage. The 1984-1985 campaign was by far his best, averaging 16.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. McCormick graduated from PBA in 1987 and went on to teach mathematics at Wellington High. McCormick spent more than ten seasons as coach of the boys' varsity basketball team, while also coaching the girls' varsity tennis team. The Florida Athletic Coaches Association named him Coach of the Year for the 6A Division Schools in 1995-96 and 1997-98 years. The Palm Beach County Athletic Conference named him Coach of the Year for the 6A Division Schools in 1997-98. The Sun Sentinel named him Coach of the Year in 1997-98. Jay and his wife Michelle have two children. Jay passed away in 2009.
