Palm Beach Atlantic is pleased to have one of the finest softball fields in Division II to call their first home field. Simpson Field opens to much fanfare after PBA softball spent years traveling around Palm Beach County to venues for games. Simpson Field measures out to be a hitter’s dream, with 200-foot lines to the left and right field corners, and 220 feet to straight away center field.

Along with the mirror-image practice field, Palm Beach Atlantic is now a prime candidate for hosting tournaments thanks to its world-class playing surface, brilliant 10-inning LED scoreboard, 300-seat viewing area, and brand-new concession stand.

Since 1998, Robert Simpson has served on the Board of Trustees at Palm Beach Atlantic University on the executive, planning, property and grounds, academic programs and building committees. He was Chairman of the Board from 2010-2012. Simpson is the former co-owner and president of Palm Beach Motor Cars, a family owned and operated business that provided sales, service and parts for Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Fisker and Lotus franchises. The company was founded in 1979 by Simpson’s father, the late Robert Simpson, along with Norman and Sonia Gregersen. Together they built the business from a modest used car lot and service facility into a world leader in sales and service. Simpson sold the business in 2016.

A Wellington resident, Simpson served as a member of the Corporate Partners Executive Committee at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. He is a graduate of University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering. Simpson and his wife, Denice, are active in Christ Fellowship – Royal Palm Beach Campus, where he serves as a Life Group leader (home bible study) and usher captain. Mrs. Simpson has serves on the PBA Women of Distinction Committee. They are parents to three children: Bobby, Sarah and Kaila.
