Carlos Cajigas- A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Carlos Cajigas is among the top record holders in baseball. He played in 188 games during his collegiate career from 1996-1999, a school record. He is the career leader in home runs (37), RBI's (179), triples (9) and total bases (398). He ranks second all time in base hits with 225. Cajigas was named PBA's Team Most Valuable Player in baseball and team captain in 1997. In 1996, he finished fourth in the conference with a batting average of .391, breaking the single season record at PBA for a freshman. Cajigas graduated from the Palm Beach County Law Enforcement Academy on June 16, 2004. He received the Palm Beach County Chiefs of Police Association Overall Achievement Award for being head of his class. He is employed by the West Palm Beach Police Department in the Patrol Unit, and is currently assigned to the road patrol unit in West Palm Beach. He has a bachelor of science degree in physical education, and a master of science degree in psychology. He is married to Fernanda Chavez Cajigas '01-'05, MBA, who is an accomplished athlete as the University's all-time career leader in wins for tennis.
