MOBILE, Ala.- A well-rested Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team showed their prowess on Tuesday with a pair of opening-round sweeps at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament being held this week in Mobile, Alabama. The Fish opened play with a 5-0 win over North Greenville University then followed that up with another 5-0 win over Covenant College.
The pair of wins now matches PBA up against Indiana Wesleyan University for a Wednesday morning match followed by a semifinal berth in the afternoon.
Luke Bolanos and Krasimir Atanasov were both solid in their doubles match at the top with an 8-6 win while Tyler Dealy and Frankie Moulton gave PBA an 8-5 victory against Covenant at number two doubles. Alex Minicozzi and Corey Kuglin made the doubles portion of the match a clean sweep with an 8-6 win. Minicozzi and Moulton were the only two singles portions completed with Minicozzi winning 6-3, 6-0 and Moulton winning 6-2, 6-1.
