Fish Defeat Hawks 9-0 for Sixth Win in a Row

EL CAJON, Calif. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis team made quick work of San Diego Christian Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Hawks 9-0. The match was closer than the scores show however, as three Sailfish needed three sets to defeat their singles opponent and all three doubles matches were closely contested.

Nicolas Uryson and Hendrik Burmeister continued their hot streak at No. 1 doubles, as they won 8-5. Nicholas Battistini played with Fernando Arroyo on the afternoon, and they came out on top 8-6. Thomas Salmon, playing with his normal doubles partner Pietro de Silva, won 8-5.

No. 17 Uryson improved to 7-1 on the season at No. 1 singles, defeating Alessandro Moriano 6-1, 6-1. Both Burmeister and Salmon’s opponents retired during the match, giving them the singles victories. Battistini, Stanislav Feofilov, and de Silva all needed three sets to defeat their San Diego Christian opponents, as the 'Fish completed the 9-0 sweep.

The Sailfish will be back at it tomorrow, playing Point Loma University for their sixth match in eight days. The Sailfish will be looking for their seventh consecutive victory.
