Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis survived a thrilling match against Lewis University on Wednesday night, coming from down 4-2 to defeat the Flyers 5-4 from the Mitch Gornto Tennis Complex.
After losing two out of three in doubles and two of the top three singles, Senior Matt Leeds, playing in the sixth spot, took down his opponent 6-2, 3-6, and 6-1 to give the Sailfish the come-from-behind victory.
Asti Adams and Nicholas Battistini were also key in the PBA comeback, beating their challengers 6-4, 6-4 and 6-2, 7-5 respectively. Senior Romain Nowaczyk also came away with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the number two position.
PBA’s only victory on the doubles front came from the Adams and Battistini pairing, who took down the Flyer’s duo 8-2.
Palm Beach Atlantic improves to 4-2 on the season and hosts a big regional matchup on Friday afternoon when the Saint Leo Lions travel to West Palm Beach to take on the Sailfish at 3:00 pm at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Complex.
