ORLANDO, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track team competed at the Black & Gold Invitational hosted by UCF on Friday and Saturday.
Friday's action started with the 1500m race.
Joe Basara led the way for the Sailfish. He finished in 46th, one second off his personal best with a time of 3:59.30.
Reece Slater also represented the 'Fish in the race. He placed 62nd with a time of 4:06.25.
The 5000m race saw a pair of new personal records for the Sailfish.
Ethan Wattles was the best finisher for PBA. He finished in 18th with a personal best of 15:23.57.
Michael Kirwan earned 28th after a personal record time of 15:51.80.
Friday was highlighted by a new school record set in the 10k. PBA's
Hayden Tank finished 14th with a time of 31:50.33 to set a new standard for PBA track.
Jackson Overholt came in 25th after running 32:51.15, good for the third-best time in school history.
Saturday featured another school record for the Sailfish. Basara led the way for PBA in the 800m, running a new program-best time of 1:55.26, finishing 40th in the race.
Hans Payne earned 74th with a personal best time of 3:03.74.
Carlos Santiago was right behind, earning 75th with a time of 2:05.08.
Connor Wallace also competed in the race, placing 77th with a time of 2:10.40.
Kirwan finished the weekend for PBA in the 2000m steeplechase. He placed 14th in the race with a time of 6:40.84.
PBA track is back in action on April 4 at the Embry-Riddle Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla.
