ORLANDO, Fla. — The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track and field team competed at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge, competing March 20–21 at the UCF Track Complex against a deep field of Division I and II programs.
The Sailfish were highlighted by a record-breaking performance from Aedan Lydon in the 10,000 meters. Lydon placed fifth overall while setting a new program record with a time of 30:29.04, leading PBA against a highly competitive field.
Palm Beach Atlantic opened the meet Friday with distance action. Charlie Roberts posted a time of 3:58.32 in the 1,500m invite to finish 34th overall, while Lydon's record-setting effort headlined the evening.
On Saturday, the Sailfish turned in strong performances in the middle-distance events, led by Alain Flores, who placed second in the 1,500-meter open with a time of 3:57.55. Hans Payne added a 15th-place finish in the same event, crossing in 4:09.74. Roberts capped his weekend by competing in the 800 meters, finishing 41st with a time of 1:55.47.
The Sailfish are back in action on March 28 at the NSU Shark Invite in Miramar, Fla.
