MIRAMAR, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track team competed at the NSU Shark Invite on Friday evening.
The day started with a plethora of personal records in the 1500m race. The Sailfish were led by
Ethan Wattles in seventh place, running a personal best of 4:03.96, good for the ninth-fastest time in program history. Aedon Lydon (4:08.46) was right behind in eighth, followed by
Hans Payne (4:08.85) in ninth, and
Hayden Tank (4:10.37) in 10th.
Michael Kirwan (4:13.46) finished 12th, followed by
Jackson Overholt (4:13.48) in 13th,
Carlos Santiago (4:17.42) in 15th,
Andrew Duda (4:23.72) in 18th, and
Jack Colvin (4:38.40) in 24th to round out the Sailfish lineup. Lydon, Payne, Kirwan, Overholt, and Santiago all set new personal records.
Connor Wallace represented the Sailfish in the 400m race. He finished 15th with a time of 52.14. Wallace's finish was good for a new personal record and the third-fastest time in program history.
Several participants from the 1500m doubled up in the 800m. Payne led the way for PBA in 11th, running a 2:05.18. Santago earned 16th with a time of 2:09.99, just beating out Colvin in 17th who posted 2:11.33.
Andrew Duda (2:17.64) in 21st and
Scott Richards (2:26.86) in 24th rounded out the 'Fish representatives.
Sailfish track is back in action on March 7 when they return to Tampa for the Spartan's Open.
