JUPITER, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track team competed in the Keiser Twilight Invitational at nearby Jupiter High School on Friday night.
The Sailfish started the meet with the 1500m race.
Toinou Laigle led the way for the Sailfish, finishing in second place, with a time of 4:02.05.
Ethan Wattles earned sixth place, with a time of 4:06.62, improving on his eighth-best time in school history.
Michael Kirwan ran a time of 4:17.01 to place 11th.
Hayden Tank finished 14th, running 4:20.16.
Jackson Overholt (4:25.19) and
Miles Kennedy (4:38.60) placed 19th and 21st respectively.
Jared Brown and
Djordje Panic represented the Sailfish in the 100m dash. Brown earned ninth, with a time of 11.41, just a tad slower than his school record pace. Panic posted a personal best time of 12.41 to earn 27th and set a new personal best.
Reece Slater was PBA's top finisher in the 800m. He ran a time of 1:56.52.
Nathan Yates (2:01.23) placed 14th, just ahead of
Andrew Duda (2:023.23) in 15th. Yates and Duda each set a new personal record.
Connor Wallace earned 17th, running a 2:04.02 to set a new PR.
Josh McKay's time of 2:05.27 was good for 19th place.
Brown and Panic were back at it again in the 200m. Brown placed 10th with a time of 22.88, just barely setting a new school record. Panic earned 29th, running 25.44 for a new personal record.
PBA finished the day with the 4x400m relay. McKay, Slater, Duda, and Tank were the best team for the Sailfish, finishing sixth, with a time of 3:42.91. Wallace, Yates, Kennedy, and Overholt ran a 3:43.68 to earn eighth place. Wattles, Laigle, Kirwan, and Buck rounded out the lineup in ninth, running a 3:44.55.
The Sailfish compete again on April 26 at the North Florida East Coast Relays.
