TAMPA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track team competed at the Tampa Distance Classic on Friday night. This meet was PBA's second of the spring.
The Sailfish started the day with the 1500m race with
Ethan Wattles being the lone representative. He finished 14th with a time of 4:20.37.
Wyatt Preble ran the second-fastest time in program history in the 800m race. He finished 12th in the race with a time of 1:57.98.
Bobby Babcock placed 30th in the event with a 2:04.26 mark.
Connor Wallace (2:13.86) also represented PBA in the race, placing 42nd.
Joshua Bartley represented the 'Fish in the 200m race. He placed 26th with a time of 24:13.
Toinou Laigle had the highlight of the night for the 'Fish, setting a new program record in the 5000m race. He placed third with a mark of 14:49.38.
Nathan Yates placed 20th with a mark in 15:27.81.
Joe Basara earned a 30th-place finish with a time of 15:38.07. Yates and Basara each cracked the top 10 in PBA's record book.
Zach Rohrbough (16:04.98) placed 49th,
Zachariah Shealy (16:06.24) finished 50th, and
Haile Buck (16:06.71) placed 51st.
Michael Kirwan (16:34.32),
Jackson Overholt (16:54.55),
Miles Kennedy (17:00.71),
Samuel Lenes (17:05.53), and
Josh McKay (17:09.46) also represented PBA in the 5000m race.
The Sailfish finished the night with the 4x400m race. The team of Bartley, Babcock, Wallace, and Preble ran the third-fastest time in school history. They finished third with a time of 3:32.58.
PBA track competes again on March 17 at the Black and Gold Invitational in Orlando.
