WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Earlier this morning, the Palm Beach Atlantic women's cross country team had their first race of the fall season at the Keiser Flagship Invitational, hosted by Keiser University. The Sailfish had an impressive showing, winning the overall team championship. 

PBA was dominant in their first outing, with five of their runners placing in the top five. Sailfish junior Laura Georgelin was the first to cross the finish line, taking home the individual trophy for the meet. She finished with a time of 18:04.22. Madelyn Rodriguez finished in second place for the Sailfish with a time of 18:19.41. 

The veteran returners on this year's team helped propel PBA to their opening day win. Dune Costes got her season off to a great start, finishing in third place with a time of 18:38.75 and Sadie Nordmeyer placed fourth with a time of 19:47.24. A fifth place finish from Aoife Mahony ensured the first place victory for the Sailfish. With that win, the Sailfish cross country program earned a clean sweep of the Keiser Flagship Invitational with both teams ending the day as the overall winners. 

PBA will race again on Sept. 17 in Daytona Beach, Fla. for the Embry-Riddle Pre-Conference Meet.
