LAKELAND, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's cross-country team took home the program's first NCAA Division II Regional Championship on Saturday morning. The Sailfish edged out Lee (Tenn.) by one point for the win.
Beth Sykes led the way for PBA, finishing in 21:49.82 which earned her an 8th place finish. Dominyka Petraskaite came across right behind her with a time of 21:53.85 in 9th place. Ruth Spijker finished in 12th place with a time of 21:57.45.
Jeanne Corroy crossed the line in 22:08.52 with a 15th place finish. Erin Regan finished with a time of 22:49.20 and a 32nd place finish. Addison Galloway finished in 56th place with a time of 23:32.04. Nella Petersen rounded out the Sailfish squad with a time of 24:53.93 and a 91st place finish.
As a result of the program's first regional championship, the Sailfish qualify for the NCAA DII Women's Cross Country Championship held on November 22nd in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
