DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Earlier this morning, the Palm Beach Atlantic women's cross country team competed in the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic. The Sailfish finished in second place out of 13 teams and had three runners finish in the top five. 

Madelyn Rodriguez led the way for the Sailfish, taking the first place trophy with a time of 18:44.41. Laura Georgelin finished in second place, ending the race five seconds behind Rodriguez. Dune Costes crossed the finish line in fifth place with a time of 19:05.88. Tampa came away as the overall team winners with six of their runners finishing in the top 15. 

For the Sailfish, Sadie Nordmeyer earned a top 15 finish with a time of 19:35.61 and Aoife Mahony finished in 45th place to round out the top five placements.  PBA's performance today makes a case for them to move up in the region rankings, having bested some of the teams that were ahead of them in this most recent poll.

PBA will run again on Sept. 30 for the FAU Home Invitational.
