TAMPA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track team returned to Tampa on Friday night for the Tampa Distance Challenge.
The first event PBA competed in was the 1500m race.
Ethan Wattles finished sixth for the 'Fish with a time of 4:13.54, the eighth-fastest time in school history and a personal record.
Samuel Lenes also set a personal record, placing 23rd in the race with a time of 4:29.29.
Justin Reed,
Stephen Snow, and
Camden Dangler represented the Sailfish in the 400m race. Reed was the top finisher for PBA, finishing 10th (52.80) with a personal record and the second-fastest time in school history. The other two Sailfish finished back-to-back with Snow at 15th (53.51) and Dangler at 16th (55.13).
Joshua Bartley broke his own school record in the 100m. He ran a personal best time of 11.35 to finish eighth in the race.
Bobby Babcock represented PBA in the 800m race, running a personal best 2:05.15, placing 13th.
Bartley, Dangler, and
Denny Murphy competed in the 200m race. Bartley broke another school record, finishing eighth (23.11) with a personal record time. Murphy finished 11th (23.72) while Dangler finished 16th (24.79).
Jake Lonsdale was the top finisher in the 5k for the Sailfish. He finished 17th with the second-fastest time in school history.
Tyler Ketcham placed 49th (15:53.68) and
Zach Rohrbough finished 51st (15:55.14).
Mitchell Gray placed 63rd while
Birhanu Van Der Riet came in at 92nd (17:43.37). Rohrbough, Gray, and Van Der Riet each set personal records in the event.
Murphy, Bartley, Snow, and Reed teamed up for the 4x400m relay race. They smashed the school record with a time of 3:27.83. The squad finished third in the event.
PBA competes against on Tuesday, March 15, at the Ansin Track and Field Invitational in Miramar, Fla.
