SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The PBA women's cross country team competed in the Capital Cross Challenge, running against some of the best programs across NCAA I, II, III and the NAIA.
Dune Costes continued to pace the 'Fish, crossing the finish line in a time of 23:23.7 in the 6K race. Sixty-one seconds later Elise Combs crossed the line to lead a pack of Sailfish runners. The women's field saw 322 runners finish, the majority within six minutes of the overall winner, Kaylee Mitchell of Seattle Pacific.
Katie Kanagy was the first of three PBA runners to finish behind Combs, crossing the line in 24:34.3. One second later Allison Seng crossed the line with Haley Johnson following a second behind Seng. Christin Sustar and Avery Knehans were also chosen to represent the Sailfish at the race.
The Sailfish return to action in two weeks as they run in the Disney Cross Country Classic on Oct. 12.
