BOCA RATON, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's cross country improved three spots from a year ago at the Sunshine State Conference Championships, finishing fifth on Saturday morning on a soggy surface at the South County Fairgrounds.
Dune Costes led the way once again for the 'Fish, placing 18th overall with a time of 24:06. Avery Knehans led a pack of PBA runners to finish 37th with a time of 25:21 on the 6K course. Katie Kanagy (41st) and Allison Seng (43rd) were close behind.
Christin Sustar was the final scorer for PBA in 49th place with a time of 25:56 with Elise Combs (52nd), Desi Van Emmerik (55th) and Jessica Lykins (56th) less than a minute back.
The 'Fish finished with 166 points with Nova Southeastern just behind them with 173 points. Tampa was the team champion with 34 points. Tampa's Zoe Jarvis was the individual champion with a time of 22:18.
PBA will be back in action in two weeks at the NCAA South Region Meet in Lakeland.
