TAMPA, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic track completed action at the USF Bulls Invitational on Friday as the Sailfish continue their first year of competition.
The men had a strong meet with six top-20 finishes in a meet that saw 25 schools compete. Ty Fisher had the best finish on the day with a 6th place finish in the 5K, posting a personal best time of 15:48.40. He followed that up with a PR of 4:15.76 in the 1500 meters and a 20th place finish.
Mike Smith and Joshua Read also set new PR's in the 5K and the 1500 races as Smith placed 15th (16:31.28) in the 5K and 17th (4:15.31) in the 1500. Read was able to place 18th (4:15.45) in the 1500 and placed 21st (16:47.32) in the 5K. Jon Paul Ogle had a 9th place finish in the javelin with a throw of 39.60 meters.
Cami Rickenbach had the best finish for the women, taking 23rd in the 5K with a time of 20:05.54. Jessica Lykins placed 31st in that race with a time of 21:10.52 with Elise Combs coming in one spot behind Lykins in 21:12.61.
Isabelle Granlund placed 33rd in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:11.06. She was also 36th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:32.91.
The Sailfish will close out their inaugural season on April 6 as they travel up to Daytona Beach for the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic.
