TAMPA, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic's men's track was back in action on Friday night, competing at the UT Track Invitational hosted by the University of Tampa.
The Sailfish saw their best finish in the 800 meters as Joshua Read posted an 8th place finish. Read posted a time of 2:01.68, missing 7th place by .01 seconds. He improved by nearly a full second from his time in the same event two weeks ago. Justin Nesbit and Chris Sandys-Thomas also saw improvements from their first race of the season in the 800 meters on Friday.
Ty Fisher also had a strong showing, placing 14th in the 1500 meter race with a time of 4:17.15. Read also competed in the race and placed just behind Fisher with a time of 4:18.47. Michael Smith was just a second behind Read in 18th. Jerry Saint-Vil had the best finish of the sprinting group, placing 19th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.54.
The 'Fish are back in action on March 16-17 at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami.
