MIRAMAR, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's and women's track competed at the Shark Invitational on Wednesday morning hosted by Nova Southeastern.
The women saw great efforts by Isabelle Granlund, Alex Sanquist and Cami Rickenbch in the 1500 meters. Rickenbach finished 7th with a time of 5:09.28. Sanquist was 5th in the 100 with a time of 13.92 and 8th in the 200 with a time of 29.23. Granlund with 6th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:29.95.
In the 100 meters the 'Fish had several solid finishes in addition to Sanquist. Tatiana Etienne was just behind Sanquist in 6th with a time of 14.11. She was followed by Crystal Agumagu in 7th and Kayla Buffa in 9th. Kelly Giddes placed 9th in the 200 and followed that up with an 11th place finish in the 100 meters.
The men had their best finishes in the 400 meters as Joshua Read placed 13th with a time of 54.29. Chris Sandys-Thomas was 16th in that event with a time of 55.79 and Mike Smith was 17th. Jerry Saint-Vil placed 11th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.08 with Juan Pablo Puelma placing 15th.
The Sailfish are back in action this weekend as they will take part in the Hurricane Invitational.
