No. 46 Sailfish Sweep Rose-Hulman in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis snapped a two-match losing streak with a sweep of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday evening. The match was played at the USTA National Campus.

The ‘Fish (2-2) had little trouble in two of the three doubles matches as Rafael Lenz and Pietro de Silva cruised to an 8-1 win at the top position. Philipp Hoffmann and Thomas Salmon also picked up an easy win, taking the 8-3 decision as PBA jumped out to the early lead. The Sailfish shuffled up the bottom of their lineup as Carlos Niemeyer saw his first action of the season, paired with Stanislav Feofilov and took No. 3 doubles in a tiebreak, 9-8 (7-2).

PBA didn’t drop a set in the singles play as three ‘Fish picked up their first wins of the season. At the bottom of the lineup it was Carlos Meneses, Thomas Salmon and Pietro de Silva all earning their first wins of the year. At the top Bernardo Ferreira improved to 3-0 in his freshman campaign, earning the 6-2, 6-2 victory at the third position. Philipp Hoffmann and Rafael Lenz were also straight sets winners on Wednesday evening.

The Sailfish will take on No. 7 Barry on Friday at home before hitting the road to Hilton Head for their annual spring break trip. The match against the Bucs is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
