No. 38 Sailfish Knock Off No. 29 Florida Tech

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – No. 38 Palm Beach Atlantic snapped a four-match losing streak on Tuesday, defeating No. 29 Florida Tech 6-3 in the home finale for the Sailfish.

PBA swept through doubles play and needed just two singles match wins to secure the team victory. Teona Tatishvili took down Erin Egoroff in the third flight 6-3, 6-3 before Maja Jovic won 7-5, 6-2 in the fifth spot to give PBA the victory.

Playing for the third time this season at No. 1 Valerie Nagovitcina picked up a win over nationally-ranked No. 50 Natasa Vukovic in three sets. Nagovitcina dropped the first set 6-1 before handling Vukovic in sets two and three, 6-2, 6-4.

In doubles action Kathi Tesar and Taylor Conti narrowly defeated Vukovic and Chloe Chanley 9-8 (10-8) in the top position. Jovic and Nagovitcina won 8-4 at No. 2 while Tatishvili and Michaela Mignemi won 8-6 in the third spot.

The ‘Fish will look to get back to .500 on the season as they wrap up the year at No. 3 Saint Leo on Saturday at 1 p.m.
