DAVIE, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team dropped a midweek conference matchup on Wednesday as they took on No. 4 Nova Southeastern at the NSU Tennis Complex at Rolling Hills, falling 7-0.
In doubles action, Nova Southeastern claimed the point with victories on all three courts. At No. 1 doubles, Kristyna Hranacova and Katja Markus bested
Alina Hoermann and
Virginia Borja, 6-2. Noemie Dadoun and Chloe Henderson followed with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles over
Elisa Buhagiar and
Valeria Lopez. The sweep was completed as Jana Boegner and Priscila Janikian secured a 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles against
Daniela Ortiz and
Sunshine Tarpey.
The singles matches saw Nova Southeastern maintain their momentum with straight-set triumphs. Hranacova edged out Hoermann, 6-4, 7-5, at No. 1 singles. Markus continued the streak at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Borja. Henderson, at No. 3 singles, survived a match tiebreak, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4), against Lopez.
Boegner clinched the match for Nova Southeastern with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Buhagiar at No. 4 singles. Dadoun added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles over Ortiz. At No. 6 singles, Gia Fine wrapped up the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 result against Tarpey, sealing the dual match score at 7-0 for Nova Southeastern.
