West Palm Beach, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis team has now won a dozen matches in a row, after defeating Webber International University 8-0 Saturday afternoon.
The ‘Fish, who have not lost in over a month, had an easy time Saturday in doubles. The tandem of Romain Nowaczyk and Nicolas Uryson won 8-2, they were followed by a Mark Heimberger/ Asti Adams 8-1, and the final duo for the ‘Fish, Nicholas Battistini and Matt Leeds, posted a clean 8-0 win over the Warriors.
The Sailfish wasted no time on the singles side either, as Nowaczyk cruised to an easy 6-0, 6-0 victory in the top spot. Uryson, who is ranked 28th in the country in singles play, won 6-1, 6-1. He was followed by Heimberger who posted an identical 6-1, 6-1 win. Fernando Arroyo won his only appearance on the day 6-4, 6-4. The final Sailfish of the day, Ignacio Briceno, who made his season debut, posted a 6-3, 7-6 victory to close things out for the Sailfish.
The Sailfish head out west to Colorado on April 4th to take on Colorado Christian University as well as Colorado College. Those matches will begin at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
