Sailfish Can't Hang With No. 5 Lynn, Fall 9-0

Box Score

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s tennis continued their difficult stretch against ranked opponents on Tuesday night, falling 9-0 at the hands of No. 5 ranked Lynn University from the Mitch Gornto Tennis Complex.

PBA’s top pairing of Veena Vasquez and Valerie Nagovitcina came the closest to a victory in the doubles in the match, falling 8-5 to the Fighting Knights number one pairing.

With the singles match beginning and the ‘Fish already down 3-0, Lynn put the match out of reach quickly with victories in the top three spots. The closest singles competition included a battle between Nagovitcina and her number two adversary, but the sophomore ultimately fell short 5-7. 2-6.

The Sailfish have now lost to ITA Top 50 ranked opponents in each of their last four losses.

Palm Beach Atlantic will return to action on Saturday, February 28th when they travel to Miami Gardens to take on St. Thomas University at 11:00 am.
