BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Sailfish women’s tennis team had their hands full on Tuesday afternoon as they took on the No. 4-ranked Lynn University squad at the Perper Tennis Complex in Boca Raton. The Fighting Knights proved their high ranking by defeating the Sailfish by a total of 9-0.

The Knights (4-0) defeated the No. 30-ranked Sailfish (1-3) in each doubles and singles while producing straight set wins in singles at Nos. 3, 4 and 6 singles.

The ‘Fish best opportunity for a win came at No. 2-doubles as Jessica Wharton and Maja Jovic were defeated 8-4 by Rosalie Willig and Andrea Berkova. PBA’s No. 1-doubles tandem of Veena Vasquez and Yoanna Peshev lost 8-2 versus the No. 5-ranked duo of Vale Confalonieri and Ioana Ivan.

Confalonieri is currently the No. 1-ranked singles player in the NCAA Division II ranks and defeated Vasquz 6-4, 6-1.

Palm Beach Atlantic will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15th when they host Warner (Fla.) University at 1 pm.
