WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Saint Leo University women’s tennis team took on Palm Beach Atlantic on a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon at Gaines Park and came away with an 8-1 victory over the Sailfish. Ranked #24 in the latest NCAA Division II rankings, the Lions handed the #42-ranked Sailfish their eighth loss of the season as they drop to 10-8 on the season.
Senior Krishna Domenech tallied the lone win for Palm Beach Atlantic on the day as she battled to a three-set win at #6-singles by coming from behind after dropping the opening set 4-6 and then storming back for 6-2, 11-9 wins.
Saint Leo began the match with strong victories in doubles with Victoria Baca and Natalia Trotter giving the best showing for PBA as they fell 8-5 at #1-doubles.
The Sailfish will now prepare for next Saturday, March 26th when they will host the University of Tampa at 10 am at Gaines Park.
