WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team received a solid showing from #1-singles player Krasimir Atanasov on Thursday afternoon however they were unable to topple the remaining portions of the match as #5-ranked Barry University closed out a 7-2 win against the Fish at Gaines Park.
Atanasov and fellow sophomore Luke Bolanos battled to a 9-8 (2) victory over their counterparts at #1-doubles to put PBA in front however both other groups of doubles went to the Buccaneers by the scores of 5-8 and 0-8 respectively.
Back came Atanasov, the 43rd ranked singles player at the NCAA Division II level against the 13th ranked player for Barry in Marco Mokryzcki in a three set thriller. Atanasov dropped the opening set 5-7 but then stormed back for a 6-3, 10-4 win.
