MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- After two losses to start the week, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team rebounded for wins on back-to-back days including Saturday’s victory over St. Thomas University on the road in Miami. The 7-2 win puts PBA back over .500 on the season with only a few matches left before postseason play will begin.
While the final tally of 7-2 proved the Sailfish to be superior it may have ended in a 9-0 win however both #3-doubles and #6-singles went down as Bobcat victories with Sailfish junior Krishna Domenech unable to make the trip because of a funeral.
Lina Rubiano and Natalia Trotter teamed up at #1-doubles and took a tight battle by a final tally of 8-5 as did Natalie Aleman and Amber Braaten who finished with an 8-5 victory at #2-doubles.
PBA swept their way through singles play with Aleman proving the most dominant with a straight sets win of 6-0, 6-0 at #2-singles.
After four matches over a six day period, the PBA women’s tennis team will now be off until Tuesday, March 30th when they will welcome in the University of West Alabama for a 2 p.m. matchup.
