WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- For the third consecutive match, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team came away with an exciting 5-4 victory which came down to the final singles players left. Taking on St. Thomas University on Friday afternoon at Gaines Park, freshman Luke Bolanos sealed the victory with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 victory to give PBA the 5-4 win.
Following up similar decisions over Florida Tech and Brandeis University in previous outings, the men’s tennis squad continues to give PBA coach Chi Ly gray hairs as they awaited until the final play to be done to seal the victory.
Krasimir Atanasov and Bolanos combined to earn an 8-1 victory in #1-doubles followed by another win at #3-doubles from Tyler Dealy and Frankie Moulton by a 9-7 score.
In singles action, Atanasov and Bolanos earned their wins at #1 and #2 respectively while senior James Buerkle came through with a #6-singles victory 6-1, 6-2.
