WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team came out firing on all cylinders on Friday afternoon at Gaines Park as they cruised to a 9-0 domination of St. Thomas University. The Sailfish are now 4-4 on the season after not dropping even a single set to the visiting Bobcats on Friday.
Montse Ripoll and Olga Alekseeva got the ball rolling for the Sailfish in #1-doubles as they pushed to an 8-2 victory followed by an even larger gap at 8-1 by Lina Rubiano and Natalie Aleman at #2-doubles action. Pamela Artigas and Katie Livesay rounded out the doubles competition with an 8-3 win.
Ripoll would fire a 6-1, 6-1 victory for the Fish at #1-doubles followed by Rubiano stepping in for Alekseeva at number two with a similar 6-1, 6-2 victory. Aleman, Livesay, Artigas, and freshman Amber Braaten all followed with victories as well.
