Nine Named to Academic All-District At-Large Teams

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Nine student-athletes from Palm Beach Atlantic University were recognized for their hard work in the classroom and on the playing field as College Sports Communicators announced its Academic All-District at-Large teams. The 2025-26 Academic All-District at-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

On the Women's side, six student-athletes representing three different teams were selected to represent Palm Beach Atlantic University, starting with Beach Volleyball, Maggie Cox and Maddie Kremer were selected to represent their team, followed by Women's Golf who had Nina Gudgeon and Annika Miller as their representatives closed out by Women's Lacrosse who had Georgia Karns and Taryn Thompson.

On the court for Beach Volleyball, Maggie Cox had a dominating year boasting an individual record of 22-13 with 16 of those wins coming from the fourth flight. Meanwhile her teammate Maddie Kremer, also had a remarkable 20 win year, with 17 of those wins coming from the second flight.

On the green for Women's Golf, Nina Gudgeon showed out for the Sailfish, being the teams' best finisher in two tournaments, grouped with one top ten, three top 25, and nine top 50 finishes on the year. Her best finish overall was seventh place at the Flagler Fall Slam. Her teammate, Annika Miller, also had a stellar year on the green as well, boasting two top 25 appearances and six top 50 appearances, her best finish came at the SSC Championships where she finished tenth.

Lastly on the field for Women's Lacrosse, Georgia Karns left everything on the field, ending her career as a Sailfish with 244 saves, making her third all time for saves in program history. Her teammate Taryn Thompson had a very competitive year, playing on both sides of the field each game, her efforts on defense landed her SSC Defensive Player of the Week.

On the Men's side, three student-athletes representing two teams were  selected to represent Palm Beach Atlantic University, starting with Men's Golf as Justus Verge was selected to represent his team, followed by Men's Lacrosse who had Jack Bryant and Austin Nelson.

On the green for Men's Golf, Justus had an incredible year for the Sailfish. Verge was the teams best finisher on three separate occasions, he sports two top ten appearances, five top 25 appearances, and eight top 50 appearances. His best finish was a fourth place result at the Patriot Falls Classic.

On the field for Men's Lacrosse, Jack Bryant had an impressive debut year for the 'Fish as a transfer from Bellarmine University, Bryant was in net for every Sailfish win this season and finished sixth in the conference in saves, and fifth in the conference in saves per game. His teammate, Austin Nelson was a key contributer to the Sailfish defense, scooping up 30 ground-balls and causing 14 turnovers.

The CSC Academic All-District honor recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate high achievement in both academics and athletics. Nominees must meet minimum competition and GPA requirements to be eligible for consideration.
