JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The 'Fish made waves on Friday, rolling past Lake Sumter State College with a commanding 5-0 victory, but dropping their second game to Jacksonville.
Against Lake Sumter State, Palm Beach Atlantic's lineup proved its depth with wins across all five matches.
Leading the charge,
Katie Galligan and
Angela Goggin put Palm Beach Atlantic on the board with a straight-set triumph over Lake Sumter State's Audrey Pickle and Ellison Saunders, closing it out 21-11, 21-16. Not to be outdone, the 2s pair of
Maddie Kremer and
Savanna Rogers doubled the lead for the 'Fish, easing past Sophia Cooper and Jenna Walker 21-13, 21-9.
The momentum kept rolling as the 3s, featuring
Sydney Corbett and
Katelyn Nadeau, secured the dual for PBA with a decisive 21-10, 21-12 victory over Brooke Walker and Mariana Comartin. Not stopping there,
Maggie Cox and
Zoye Caroline in the 4s continued the winning streak, besting Rylinn Farkus and Moria Mangum 21-10, 21-17.
Sealing the deal,
Peyton Baro and
Lauren Pace in the 5s completed the sweep for the Sailfish, overcoming Brooke Fintake and Emma Blevins 21-18, 21-13. It was a stellar showing from the 'Fish across all flights.
Against Jacksonville, The Sailfish faced a tough outing concluding with a 1-4 scoreline. The 'Fish made their mark in the No. 4 match with a standout performance.
In the top flight, the duo of

Katelyn Nadeau of the Sailfish locked in a three-set duel against Morgan Perry and Katie Taylor. After a promising start, Corbett and Nadeau unfortunately slipped with scores of 21-15, 19-21, 12-15, allowing Jacksonville another point.

Maggie Cox and
Zoye Caroline shone brightly, securing a straight-set victory over Kye Swink and Hayden Garnett, 21-17, 23-21. Their hard-earned win came after the dual had been decided, but it was a testament to their skill and determination.
In the 5s,
Peyton Baro and
Cameron Ring of the 'Fish faced off against Katie Martinez and Maddie Fielder. Baro and Ring couldn't quite find their rhythm, resulting in a straight-set loss, 12-21, 11-21, as Jacksonville clinched the final point.
The 'Fish are back in action tomorrow as they take on Wingate and finish their weekend with a rematch against Jacksonville.
