Sailfish Sweep Day One of the Battle of St. Petersburg With Dominant 10-0 Statement

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic dominated Eckerd College and Tusculum,

Against Eckerd, the Sailfish went sweeping through all five matches for a commanding 5-0 victory at the Baker Beach Volleyball Complex.

Leading the way in the top flight, Katie Galligan and Angela Goggin from PBA delivered a straight-sets triumph over Eckerd's Brooke Hand and Anna Jupin, posting scores of 21-17, 21-19. This set the tone for the Sailfish's strong performance.

In the 2s, Maddie Kremer and Savanna Rogers of the 'Fish faced a tough three-setter against Teagan VanderMey and Ella Kloepper. After splitting the first two sets 21-18, 17-21, Kremer and Rogers clinched the final set 17-15, adding to the Sailfish's tally.

On Court 3, Sydney Corbett and Katelyn Nadeau from PBA notched a straight-sets win over Maddie Prois and Emma Samuelson, closing it out 21-18, 21-19, and further solidifying their sweep.

The 4s saw Maggie Cox and Zoye Caroline from the 'Fish battle back in a three-set thriller against Marti Boser and Madison Hardbarger. After dropping the opener 19-21, Cox and Caroline rallied to capture the next two sets 21-19, 15-9.

In the No. 5 spot, Peyton Baro and Cameron Ring of Palm Beach Atlantic wrapped up the event with a straight-sets victory over Addie White and Jessi Meghreblian, finishing strong at 21-19, 21-15. This comprehensive win highlighted the Sailfish's impressive outing.

As for Tusculum, The Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic also swept 5-0, clinching ten victories for all ten matches on the day.

In the top flight showdown, Katie Galligan and Angela Goggin of the 'Fish dug deep in a thrilling three-set battle against Tusculum's Hannah Marsh and Sofia Vega Barrantes. Galligan and Goggin emerged victorious with scores of 21-15, 16-21, 17-15, sealing a hard-fought win in the nail-biting third set.

In the 2s, Maddie Kremer and Savanna Rogers delivered for PBA with a straight-sets triumph over Brynn Smith and Dasha Nikolaeva. Kremer and Rogers dominated the court, putting a point on the board with a commanding 21-14, 21-12 victory.

The No. 3 flight featured Sydney Corbett and Katelyn Nadeau of the Sailfish showcasing their skills against Sylvia Liszewski and Cooper George. Corbett and Nadeau decisively added another point with a solid 21-11, 21-9 win.

In the 4s, Maggie Cox and Zoye Caroline of Palm Beach Atlantic took on Tusculum's Siri Aasgard and Ally Doty. Cox and Caroline completed a straight-sets win, securing the match 21-10, 21-19.

The 5s wrapped up with Peyton Baro and Cameron Ring of the 'Fish facing Jordyn Anderson and Ryann Gallagher. Baro and Ring sealed the sweep for Palm Beach Atlantic, finishing strong with a 21-12, 21-18 victory.

The 'Fish are back in action tomorrow as they take on Florida Southern and Lindenwood.
