MELBOURNE, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team was selected to finish in 9th place in the preseason SSC poll. The Sailfish are coming off an 8th place finish last year, finishing ahead of Eckerd and Tampa. 

The Sailfish are coming off of a 6-14 record last season with a 2-7 schedule in SSC Play. PBA took conference wins at Eckerd and Tampa last season.

The poll, released yesterday and voted on by the league's head coaches, tabbed Barry as the preseason favorite. Barry is coming off an SSC and National Championship season in 2025. Nova Southeastern, the SSC and National Runner-ups from last year, were picked to finish second. Embry-Riddle, Lynn and Florida Southeastern round out the top five.

The Sailfish return four players from last year. Virginia Borja, Anarella Brito, Alina Hoermann and Valeria Lopez all return from last year's squad. The team also welcomes three transfers and two freshman to the roster.

The Sailfish kick off the season at noon on Jan. 30 when they head to Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach.
