WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team was selected to finish tenth in the SSC Preseason Poll as released by the conference office on Friday afternoon. The poll is voted on by the league's head coaches.  

The Sailfish are coming off a 19-28 campaign last year with an 11-19 record in SSC play which was good enough for ninth in the league.  

Head Coach Kent Bottenfield enters his 15th season as the Sailfish skipper. Coach Bottenfield welcomes two new assistant coaches to his staff in Mitch Calandra and Simeon Davis.  

The Sailfish return 26 players from last year's roster, including starters such as Aidan Pierre, Jake McNamara, Patrick Rakes, Kody Kelly, Trey Miranda, Giancarlo Chantres and Finley Holmes. PBA also has multiple starting pitchers returning this year. Dane Hall, Nolan Smoot and Derek Langfelder all return to the bump this year. The Sailfish also added a freshmen class of seven players and welcomed five transfers to the roster.  

Tampa was voted to repeat as SSC Champions with nine first place votes after going 55-10 and 27-3 in league play last season. Florida Southern was picked to finish second with the other two first place votes. Rollins, Lynn and Nova Southeastern rounded out the top five. 

The Sailfish kickoff the season at home on Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. with a game against Catawba.
