WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic beach volleyball team completed the second day of the Eckerd Battle for the Bay invitational by facing the University of South Florida and Eckerd. The USF was matched as an exhibition, followed by PBA dominating Eckerd 4-1.
PBA opened the day with an exhibition match against the USF Bulls. The Sailfish put up a challenge but fell short 3-2. The 'Fish followed with their final road match of the season against Eckerd.
In the No. 1 position,
Serena Baumgart and
Anna Dunbar worked deep into three sets but fell short of the mark with scores of 21-18, 21-19, and 15-6. The No. 2 pair featured
Camdyn Albrecht and
Katelyn Nadeau, seeing them even the match at 1-1 after posting scores of 21-19, 21-13, and 15-9 after rallying deep into three sets. The No. 3 flight was comprised of
Annika Huhtamaki and
Abby Plevin who were challenged, but able to secure the sets with scores of 22-20 and 21-19 to elevate PBA to a 2-1 lead.
In the No. 4 position,
Sydney Corbett and
Savannah DeCarlo secured the match for the Sailfish after dominating their opponent with scores of 21-7 and 21-13. Rounding out for the Sailfish, the No. 5 pair was comprised of
Angela Goggin and
Zoye Caroline. The pair work efficiently to mark scores of 21-12 and 21-15.
PBA is back in action next Saturday, April 5, when it hosts a Barry University for the final home match of the season. The match is set for 10:00 a.m. (EST).
