DELAND, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic beach volleyball team closed out their weekend with the second day of the Hatters Invitational. PBA was seen battling against No. 16 Stetson and No. 7 Florida State University. The Sailfish worked diligently and fought through two tough matches, but were seen dropping both contests (5-0, 5-0).
Palm Beach Atlantic will be back in action next weekend as they compete in the Eckerd Battle on the Bay. The Invitational will start on Friday, March 28 and conclude on Saturday, March 29. The Sailfish will face USF and Eckerd on Friday followed by Missouri State and Tampa on Saturday.
MATCH 1 | PBA: 0, SU: 5
In their first match of the day, the 'Fish were matched up with the No. 16 Hatters. In the No. 1 position,
Serena Baumgart and
Anna Dunbar put up a fight but fell short with scores of 21-16 and 21-14. The No. 2 pair featured
Camdyn Albrecht and
Katelyn Nadeau, seeing them drop the first set 21-19 and extending set two to 25-23. However, the pair still missed the mark and saw PBA trailing 2-0. The No. 3 flight was comprised of
Annika Huhtamaki and
Abby Plevin who contested their opponents but dropped the match with scores of 21-13 and 21-14.
In the No. 4 position,
Sydney Corbett and
Savannah DeCarlo put up a fight but dropped the contest with scores of 21-11 and 21-18. Rounding out for the Sailfish, the No. 5 pair was comprised of
Angela Goggin and
Cameron Ring. The pair were seen marking scores of 21-17 and 21-8, ultimately seeing PBA dropped the match 5-0.

In their final match of the weekend, the Sailfish went head-to-head with the No. 7 Seminoles. In the No. 1 position, Baumgart and Dunbar fell short of the mark with scores of 21-14 and 21-14. The No. 2 pair featured Albrechtand Nadeau, seeing them rally together but were unable to secure the match and posted scores of 21-11 and 21-15. The No. 3 flight was comprised of Huhtamaki and Plevin who challenged their opponents but posted scores of 21-16 and 21-14.
In the No. 4 position, Corbett and DeCarlo were unable to secure the victory as they posted scores of 21-14 and 21-13. Rounding out for the Sailfish, the No. 5 pair was comprised of Goggin and Ring. The pair were seen fighting with diligence but fell short with scores of 21-17 and 21-13.
