Beach Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic beach volleyball team hosted a tri-match at the Rinker Athletic Campus, featuring Webber International University and Warner University on Saturday.

PBA was seen sweeping its competition on the day, posting a 5-0 score against Webber International and Warner and not letting either team score more than 18 points in a match.

Palm Beach Atlantic will be back in action next Saturday, February 22 as the 'Fish travel to Lakeland, Fla. for a tri-match against Florida Southern.

MATCH 1 | PBA: 5, WIU: 0

The Sailfish had a strong lineup against the Warriors, and they dominated in each flight. Anna Dunbar and Serena Baumgart held the No. 1 position, outscoring their opponent 21-13 and 21-18. In the No. 2 flight, Camdyn Albrecht and Katelyn Nadeau dominated with scores of 21-13 and 21-11. The No. 3 pair saw Sydney Corbett and Savannah DeCarlo work diligently to record a 21-17 and 21-16 victory over their opponent.

In the No. 4 flight, Desi Waterman and Angela Goggin marked a 21-17 and 21-11 score to continue the Sailfish success. The No. 5 position saw Abby Plevin and Zoye Caroline secure the sweep with scores of 21-6 and 21-11.

MATCH 2 | PBA: 5, WU: 0

Continuing their strong success, the Sailfish kept their lineup almost identical as they faced the Royals. Remaining in the No. 1 position, Dunbar and Baumgart marked scores of 21-18 and 21-7 to put the 'Fish ahead early. In the No. 2 flight, Albrecht and Nadeau handled business with scores of 21-12 and 21-8 to hold their opponents at bay. The No. 3 pair remained solid in Corbett and DeCarlo, seeing them fight to mark scores of 21-14 and 21-18.

With a 3-0 lead over the Royals, the Sailfish saw Plevin and Zylstra jump to the No. 4 flight and post scores of 21-12 and 21-11. The No. 5 position secured the sweep for the 'Fish with Waterman and Goggin marking a 21-17 and 21-6 score to close the day.
