KENOSHA, Wis. — Palm Beach Atlantic senior
Colten Lee delivered one of the biggest performances in program history Saturday, placing 34th at the NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country National Championships to earn All-American honors, the first ever for the Sailfish men's program.
Lee crossed the line in 30:35.8 on the 10K course at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course, capping a breakout season that included an individual national qualification after finishing first at the NCAA South Regional.
Running in a tightly packed group, Lee held his position over the final kilometers to secure a top-40 finish, the benchmark for All-America status in Division II. His performance marks a milestone for PBA, which had never produced an All-American in men's cross country before Saturday.
Lee is just the second men's runner for PBA to earn a trip to NCAA Nationals. In his first season with PBA, he etched his name into the record books as the Sailfish's first NCAA Regional individual champion.
Lee's race closes a historic fall for both Sailfish cross country programs, with PBA sending a men's individual qualifier and a women's team to nationals.
