WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic University Athletic Department announced its yearly award winners on Sunday afternoon to celebrate the best and brightest from PBA athletics. All awards were handed out to the student-athletes as the show served as a culmination to the past year of Sailfish athletics, highlighting both accomplishments on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. 

Below are the nominees and winners of each award.

Athlete of the Year: Awarded to the male and female student-athletes who are considered the top performers at the University.

Winners: Kash Ayuso (Women's Basketball) and Grant Ledford (Men's Basketball)
Finalists: Rachel Delate (Women's Lacrosse), Gracie Mullett (Softball), Jayden Otto (Volleyball), Matthew Faranda (Baseball), Justus Verge (Men's Golf), and Narcis Bou Dalmau (Men's Soccer)
Other Nominees: Gabriella Aziz (Beach Volleyball), Kendall Furrow (Women's Soccer), Simona Karlsson Hantzis (Women's Tennis), Toinou Laigle (Men's Cross Country/Track), Hunter Hopman (Men's Lacrosse), and Roberto Binaghi (Men's Tennis)

Athletic Director's Award: Awarded to a male and female student-athlete who has exemplified the Christian values on and off the field of competition along with upholding the academic and athletic standards of the Palm Beach Atlantic University Athletics Department.
Winners: Anna Foreman (Women's Soccer) and Keegan Southard (Men's Lacrosse)
Finalists: Karla Cantero (Beach Volleyball), Angelina Baader (Women's Cross Country/Track), Larken Maseda (Softball), Justin Lovell (Baseball), Marcus Montalvo (Men's Basketball), and Trey Tesiero (Men's Golf)
Other Nominees: Annika Miller (Women's Golf), Rachel Delate (Women's Lacrosse), Jayden Otto (Volleyball), and Yannick Toth (Men's Soccer)

Clark Boetel Award: Awarded to a male and female student-athlete who represents the University with outstanding attitude, leadership and servant-hood.
Winners: Frida Alsterhem (Women's Tennis), JJ Hayes (Men's Basketball), and Henry Sloyan (Men's Lacrosse)
Finalists: Mariyah Fletcher (Women's Basketball), Savannah DeCarlo (Beach Volleyball), Mattie Davis (Women's Lacrosse), Jackson Overholt (Men's Cross Country/Track), and Jared Brown (Men's Soccer/Track)
Other Nominees: Chloe Nepveux (Softball), Taylor Nelson (Volleyball), Dalton Balma (Baseball), Jordan Verge (Men's Golf), and Luis Eduardo Platas (Men's Tennis)

Don Harp Award: Awarded to a male and female student-athlete who is a rising senior who has excelled in competition and demonstrated outstanding Christian leadership. 
Winners: Emme Lantis (Women's Golf) and Daniel Foster (Baseball)
Finalists: Abby Plevin (Beach Volleyball), Emma Canty (Women's Soccer), Kaileigh Ammons (Volleyball), Ethan Wattles (Men's Cross Country/Track), Trey Tesiero (Men's Golf), and Caleb Southard (Men's Lacrosse)
Other Nominees: Margaret Myskowski (Women's Cross Country/Track), Will Lee (Men's Basketball), and Carson Tighe (Men's Soccer)

Gary Carter Award: Awarded to a male and female student-athlete that has a love and respect for the game, plays with enthusiasm and heart and is a good role model on and off the field or court. Must have credible statistics.
Winners: Elisa Grande (Softball) and Justus Verge (Men's Golf)
Finalists: Megan Jackson (Women's Lacrosse), Cecilia Peroni (Women's Tennis), Harper Stokes (Volleyball), Trent McNair (Men's Basketball), Austin Nelson (Men's Lacrosse), and Juanfer Contreras (Men's Tennis)
Other Nominees: Julia Golichowski (Beach Volleyball), Nella Petersen (Women's Cross Country/Track), Daniel Foster (Baseball), Hayden Tank (Men's Cross Country/Track), and Nicklas Clausen (Men's Soccer)

Newcomer of the Year: Awarded to a male and female student-athlete who performs at a high-level and makes a sizable impact for their team as a first-year player.
Winners: Rachel Delate (Women's Lacrosse) and Jamaal Walker (Men's Basketball)
Finalists: Karyzma Pierre (Women's Basketball), Lola Ackman (Beach Volleyball), Mariane Johnson (Women's Golf), Simona Karlsson Hantzis (Women's Tennis), Stanton Leuthner (Baseball), Brad Wharton (Men's Lacrosee), and Tin Vastic (Men's Soccer)
Other Nominees: Hannah Parker (Women's Cross Country/Track), Payton Ahrenstorff (Volleyball), Reece Slater (Men's Cross Country/Track), and Matthew Young (Men's Tennis)

President's Award: Awarded to a male and female student-athlete with outstanding academic achievements while contributing to their team's athletic success. 
Winners: Abigail Mason (Beach Volleyball), Margaret Myskowski (Women's Cross Country/Track), and Aaron Miechiels (Men's Lacrosse)
Finalists: Jillian Schenk (Women's Basketball), Karen Vasquez (Softball), Hayden Tank (Men's Cross Country/Track), Yannick Toth (Men's Soccer), and Roberto Binaghi (Men's Tennis)
Other Nominees: Cecilia Peroni (Women's Tennis), Harper Stokes (Volleyball), David Chenoweth (Baseball), Broderick Ellis (Men's Basketball), and Justus Verge (Men's Golf)

Strength and Conditioning Award: Given to a male and female student-athlete who increases or improves their physical fitness through a high commitment level and hard work.
Winners: Taylor Jackson (Women's Soccer) and Matty Warren (Baseball)

Workship Award: Given to a male and female student-athlete who continually demonstrates leadership service through the Workship program.
Winners: Hunter Levinson (Women's Lacrosse) and Jared Brown (Men's Soccer/Track)

Fleming Impact Award: Presented to individuals who continue to make a tremendous impact for Sailfish student-athletes.
Winners: Patrick C. Koenig
