Match 2: PBA - 3 | FSC - 2Â
The Sailfish played their second match of the day against a Florida Southern side that came match carrying a gaudy 20-3 record. However, the Mocs hadn't played the caliber of the opponents that PBA had or teams as strong as the 'Fish as PBA came out on top. Aziz and Mason bounced back from their first match of the day to take down the top FSC side easily, 21-14, 21-17. Ackman and Huhtamaki moved up to the No. 2 flight and captured a three-set victory 21-18, 16-21, 15-7. The Mocs earned points at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions as they defeated Dunbar and Herz after PBA took the first set 21-12 and they took down Plevin and Golichowski in two extended sets.
Karla Cantero and
Julia Norville were able to take the No. 5 flight in two close sets 22-20, 21-18 to capture the match.
The 'Fish are back in action for two more matches tomorrow as they face Saint Leo in the morning followed by the Moccasins again in the afternoon. PBA defeated SLU earlier this year 3-2 while today's match against FSC was the first time the two sides have met.Â
