MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's basketball team had an individual earn accolades from the Sunshine State Conference office this afternoon as forward
Ashleigh Boulin was named Defensive Player of the Week.
The Sailfish are coming off a 1-0 week where they defeated West Alabama 73-65 at Rubin Arena. Boulin, a senior forward from Queens, New York, helped anchor the PBA defense with five steals, two blocks, and four rebounds. Appearing in her first game of the season, Boulin played 26 minutes off the 'Fish bench and played an integral part in helping PBA hold the Tigers to just 23 percent shooting in the second half.Â
After leading 43-38 at the half, the Sailfish held the Tiger to just 27 points in the second half.

Darria Whitley led the way offensively as they scored 28 and 20 points respectively to help PBA pull away in the fourth quarter. The 'Fish are now 2-1 early on the season with wins over West Florida and West Alabama.
PBA returns to action this weekend as they head to Fort Lauderdale for a Thanksgiving tournament against Daemen on Nov. 24 and Purdue Northwest on Nov. 25.Â
