MACON, Ga. - The Palm Beach Atlantic beach volleyball team wrapped up its weekend tournament in Georgia by facing the hosts Mercer this morning. After two wins yesterday, the Sailfish completed the sweep of the tournament opponents with a 3-2 win over the Bears.

Jessica Nodell and Emma Pieper gave the Sailfish a strong start by defeated their Bear opponents 21-9, 21-16. Sydney Wagner and Lyndzey Minter were unable to pull out their match for the Sailfish as they dropped their first match as a tandem this season in a tough three set match 24-22, 14-21, 8-15. The Bears edged back in front as Gabriella Aziz and Kayleigh Hall were defeated in the No. 3 singles match 12-21, 17-21. The Sailfish needed to win the final two matches and Lunden Evans and Jazz Schmidt did their part by rolling over their Mercer opponents winning 21-11, 21-7.  With the match on the line, it was Ally Bottenfield and Coleen Sieng who continued their success as a duo tandem by defeating their opponents in straight sets 21-15, 21-15 and clinching the 3-2 victory. Bottenfield and Sieng are now a perfect 5-0 on the season as a tandem.

The 'Fish remain perfect on the season after the 3-0 weekend trip against Division I opponents. Up next, the Sailfish will face off with Tampa, Jacksonville, Florida Southern, and UT-Martin on March 6-7 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
