PENSACOLA, Fla – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Region Tournament this weekend.
 
Both of PBA's wins came in the consolation brackets of the tournament. In singles competition, Shelby Groeneveld defeated Valdosta State's Rachelle Starreveld 6-4, 6-3, for the lone singles' victory for the Sailfish. In doubles competition, Groeneveld teamed up with Yuliia Russu to beat the team from Spring Hill. 
 
In the championship singles bracket, Groeneveld lost a hard-fought opening match against Barry's Julie Razafindranaly 5-7, 6-2, 10-8. Russu, Elvira Edstrom, Verena Weindl also competed, each losing their opening match in two sets.
