Sailfish Fall Flat Against Sharks in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic baseball lost a Sunshine State Conference game on Saturday, losing to Nova Southeastern by a 14-6 final.  The Sailfish fall to 18-10 with the loss, and drop to 7-4 in SSC play.  The Sharks improve to 16-9 overall as they clinched the weekend series with the blowout win.

It was all Sharks early on in Saturday's afternoon start, as they scored two in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth, and two in the fifth to take a 10-0 lead over the Sailfish.  NSU held an 11-0 lead in the top of the eighth, when Hakeem Rhodes got the Sailfish on the scoreboard with a solo home run, his second of the season.

After NSU added three more runs in the bottom of the eighth, the 'Fish scored five runs in the ninth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI single by A.J. Puigcerver and a two-RBI double from Rhodes.

Rhodes finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs on the day for the 'Fish, who picked up just seven hits in total.

Nova Southeastern clubbed four home runs in the game, as catcher Jake Anchia led the way with two homers and five RBIs.

Johnnie Schneider took the loss on Saturday, as the junior fell to 2-2 on the season.

The Sailfish and Sharks will close out the weekend series tomorrow, as they are set for a 1 pm start in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
