MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team competed at the 2018 Barry Bucs Invitational in Miami Shores, Fla this past weekend. The 'Fish faced off against some of the best schools in collegiate tennis, including 2018 NCAA Division II runner-up Barry and 2018 NAIA Runner-up Keiser.

Carlos Niemeyer earned the best finish for the 'Fish in singles competition, finishing 4th in the No. 3 flight. He defeated Flagler's Daniel Arrien 6-2, 7-6 before losing 7-6 (5), 6-4 to Daniel Lyptak of Keiser. Niemeyer lost 6-1, 6-1 to Oliver Koeng from Keiser to finish 4th.

In doubles play Rodolfo Hasegawa and Thomas Salmon had the top 'Fish finish at 5th place. They dropped their opening match 8-5 to Keiser's Ferraris/Koeng but rebounded to defeat Flagler's Carvalho/Bolla 8-6. Hasegawa/Salmon defeated fellow 'Fish Philipp Hoffman and Pietro de Silva 9-8 to win fifth place in the No. 1 doubles flight.

Men's tennis will next play Webber International in a scrimmage match on Oct. 27th.
