MELBOURNE, Fla. – Taylor Conti and Laura Valkova entered the Suntree Slam as the top seed and left as the doubles champion over the weekend.

The duo were seeded as the top team in the field and received a bye into the quarterfinals where they knocked off Mariana Castaneiras and Erin Egoroff in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. They had little trouble advancing to the finals, with a 6-1, 6-1 over over Valerie Droop and Lauren Stuckey in the semis and in the finals defeated the third seeded duo of Kayla Hergott and Alahna Reto 6-3, 7-5.

PBA's Laura Andersen and Johanna Kern entered as the two seed in the 13-team draw only to get upset in the semis by Hergott and Reto. Andersen and Kern were victorious in their first match, 6-2, 6-4 over Maria Chun and Paloma Vela before falling in the semis 6-4, 7-6.

Isabella Mermersky and Nicole Reich won their opening match 6-1, 6-7, 10-7 before being knocked out by Droop and Stuckey in the quarterfinals.

The Sailfish will close out their fall slate next weekend as they travel to Barry.
