WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Riding a seven-match winning streak the No. 17 Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish took down No. 15 Florida Southern on Saturday afternoon, 3-1, to capture their season-high eighth consecutive victory.

The Sailfish dropped the second set, snapping their set-winning streak at 19 but rebounded to take the final two and capture the victory. Set scores from Saturday were 27-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-15.

Three Sailfish (18-3) were in double figure kills against the Mocs (17-5) led by Stephany Brown and Ally Rohn who both registered 13. Faith Rohn added 12 while both Sarah Ragland and Abby Palkert chipped in with nine each.

Ally Rohn produced her NCAA D2 leading sixth triple-double of the season with a match-high 30 assists and 13 digs. Rachael Holehouse tied a season-high with 31 digs – including 14 in the first set – to lead five players in double figures as the team recorded a season-high 102.

PBA fell behind early in the first set at 8-5 but put together 5-0 runs twice to take an 18-12 lead as Sarah Ragland and Abby Palkert picked up a block. Ragland ended the night with five block assists and one solo block while Palkert added four block assists as did Emma Ballantyne.

The Mocs responded in set one by taking 10 of the next 14 points to tie the set at 22-22. After a kill by Ally Rohn put the ‘Fish up one, the Mocs scored two straight to reach set point. An attack error by FSC evened the set but the Mocs’ Nicole Mattson picked up a kill to pull the Mocs within one again. Ragland followed with a thunderous kill to tie the set at 25-25 before an attack error by the Mocs and a service ace by Ally Rohn gave the first set to the home side.

The second set followed a similar pattern with the teams trading points early before the ‘Fish slowly pushed a 12-11 set into a 19-15 advantage. From there the Mocs scored six straight following a timeout to seize a 21-19 lead. There was no comeback effort in store for the ‘Fish this time though as Ann Tovo provided the set-winning kill for FSC.

The Mocs carried momentum into the third where they jumped to a 7-3 lead but the ‘Fish responded in a big way. A 5-0 run gave the ‘Fish the lead at 8-7 and after the Mocs quickly went back on top 9-8, the ‘Fish led throughout, taking the next six points and 12 of the next 14. The lead reached it’s highest at 20-11 as Ally Rohn picked up her third kill of the set. Stephany Brown led the team with four kills in the set.

The ‘Fish took control of the fourth from the get-go, jumping out to a 12-3 advantage as Faith Rohn collected three of her four kills of the set in the early going. Ally Rohn also had four kills in the set along with six assists and seven digs.

The Sailfish hit .184 for the match but held the Mocs to .120 and only 43 kills. PBA tallied 60 kills including 18 in the opener. Alexandra Roberts assisted on six of those kills in the first set and six more in the second and finished with 19 assists and 19 digs in the match. Susie Forbes added 18 digs while Faith Rohn notched a double-double with 11 digs to go along with her 12 kills.

PBA will wrap up their four-match home swing with a visit from Lynn University on Tuesday. The Sailfish defeated the Fighting Knights 3-1 in Boca Raton on Sept. 18. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
