WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball continued their early season roll on Saturday afternoon, dominating Eckerd College in a three-set sweep in the Rubin Arena.

PBA moves to a perfect 16-0 on the season with wins of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-18.

Junior Faith Rohn started the match in dominating fashion, pounding out eight kills on 13 attempts with no errors in the first set. The Sailfish hit .438 as a team and Becca Acevedo had 16 assists on the way to the victory.

The second set was much closer, with both teams grappling with the lead throughout the entirety of the match. Eckerd held a 20-18 lead in the waning moments of the game, but PBA took advantage of some timely Triton errors and got two huge kills from Stephany Brown to put the set away.

In what would be the final set of the afternoon, PBA jumped ahead early and would maintain their lead for the sets’ duration. Even though the ‘Fish hit just .135 in the final frame, they held the Tritons to a -.030 mark and put together four total blocks to ease to the win.

Rohn wound up leading the Sailfish in kills with 18 for the match with an attack percentage of .342. Joining her in the offensive attack was Brown who had seven kills and Emma Ballantyne, who knocked in seven kills on eight chances. Acevedo ended the match with 38 assists and two kills while libero Rachael Holehouse chipped in a game-high 15 digs.

Palm Beach Atlantic has a busy week ahead of them, with four total games getting kicked off with a trip to cross-town rival Northwood University on Tuesday night and then returning to the Rubin Arena against Barry University at 7 pm on Wednesday.
